Over 50 academics from across the faculties joined together at Leura, for the DSI Strategy retreat. It was a very successful event with sessions to discuss Mission strategies, multidisciplinary grand challenge pilot projects, fundamental research focus areas and opportunities with Digital Sciences Education. We also had a very interesting panel discussion giving us perspectives on Industry (Tim Fountaine, McKinsey), Philanthropy (Chris and Julie Vonwiller, Appen) and Government and policy (Kate Harrison Brennan, Sydney Policy Lab). The team building activity got everyone together to crack the code Sovereign Capability in line with the DSI Mission to deliver sovereign capability in digital sciences. Overall, an immersive event with discussions, brainstorming, networking and great ideas!
