The Digital Sciences Initiative was actively involved as part of the University of Sydney booth in showcasing their expertise and capabilities across the 3 day Indo Pacific 2023 International Maritime Expo at ICC Sydney from Nov 7 – Nov 9. This event is the only comprehensive international exhibition of its kind in the Asia Pacific region. It is a powerful forum for our academics to engage and network with key decision-makers, government representatives, defence officials, and military procurement managers, defence and aerospace manufacturers, equipment suppliers and service providers. The team was involved in a range of industry and government tours to showcase our labs and capabilities to international guests who were visiting Sydney for the expo. It was exciting to see >700 stalls and this was a great opportunity to expand our network and continue conversations around current and new research projects with our existing partners.
The Autonomous Underwater Vehicle was on display from our Australian Centre for Robotics, a global leader in robotics research. The Sydney Manufacturing Hub showcased a range of samples made up of metal, ceramics and polymeric-based materials, that attracted interest and sparked ideas in how the University’s expertise in additive manufacturing and materials processing might be applied across a range of industries.
